I am sort of a mixture between spiritual entrepreneur, equipper and missions pastor at the Rock Church in San Diego, CA.
This is my personal blog. It is focused on “living a life of impact.” Whether you are a barista, lawyer, student, housewife, CEO, or construction worker I believe that God designed us to live with Impact.
My mission is to help you live with the personal significance that comes from making a positive and enduring impact on the world around you.
I write primarily on relationships, leadership, discipleship and missions. I’ll be posting weekly – sometimes more, never less.
I’m a spiritual entrepreneur in the sense that everything I do is self-funded. Not that I personally pay for everything, but I develop ministries that generate their own revenue streams so that nothing is paid for by the Rock Church – not even my salary. I am an equipper in that much of what I do is teach people how to live a life of personal significance. I am a missions pastor/advocate in the sense that I have a deep passion for both inspiring and facilitating people to engage in life transforming missions experiences.
MY BIOGRAPHY
I have served in ministry my entire adult life. At age 23 I began at Horizon Christian Fellowship working as in intern pastor for a year. Upon completion of my internship I married the love of my life, Nannette, and a month later moved to Pushkin, Russia to plant a church. After six years we turned the church over and moved to Calvary Chapel Bible College Europe were we served another two years developing curriculum, equipping students, and sending them out as missionaries. In 2001 we moved to Mexico where we helped set up and administrate Festivals of Life for Horizon Christian Fellowship in Queretaro and Aguas Calientes.
After nine years on the mission field we returned to San Diego where I served as the Director of the Horizon School of Evangelism (HSE) for seven years. It was a season of effective equipping, team building, radical ministry trips and a lot of fun. In 2010, sensing a call to a new chapter, I resigned as director of HSE to launch a totally new and innovative discipleship school in conjunction with the Rock Church in San Diego called Impact195.
I have been married to my wife, Nannette, for twenty glorious years. We have two children that we adore with all our hearts.
